Come as you are

April 30

Sometimes the best parties are impromptu.  After work on Tuesday, April 30th, I stopped by Pam and Chad's house for the latest news.  What did I find but Donna and Pam swinging.  Actually they were watching the birds in Pam's garden, primarily the hummingbirds.
Donna minus Pam

Chad, always the kind host, brought a chair for my use... there are only two swings.  Accepting the offer we discussed the garden plants and the recently returned hummingbirds.  Pam and Chad simultaneous said "George and Georgette".  I was about to ask "Why only one pair?" when Pam volunteered there are actually two Georges and two Georgettes.  One would think hummingbird parents were more creative but maybe they save energy for other issues.

As we relax by the fire, Kerry arrives with hamburger patties and hot dogs for the grill.  Kerry loves parties, Chad loves to grill, and everyone else enjoys their efforts.  So Chad , the grill master, cranks up the fire as we continue to discuss George and Georgette.

Eventually, Billy wanders up with a coffee maker for Pam and Chad.  Now, Billy knows a good opportunity when he sees it and naturally joins the impromptu party.  He and Kerry begin a discussion of no importance (I can't recall the topic so it must not have been important.)

Several other campers stop by for a chat but all have other dinner plans.  The dinner is becoming "Stone Soup" or a "Potluck" so I head to our trailer for "goodies" to contribute.  A rummage through the pantry yields chips and fresh tomatoes, the refrigerator offers onions, dip, and last night's vegetables.  OK, we are ready for dinner.

Burgers are tasty, Pam's homemade pickles are dy-no-mite.  Now, what are the chances that the sauteed veges would be a hit?  Everyone loves Brussels sprouts so there was a lottery for the sprouts!

Great party & great memories.  Thanks to Kerry for his spur of the moment idea.
