A Family Christmas in Melbourne Florida

Living on the road offers interesting opportunities so why not take advantage of the situation.

After spending a week or so working around our home in Citra we moved on.  The first stop was Lacoochee for more time with friends and family.  Then we made our way to Melbourne where most of Bill's family resides.

Mama Lou
From a long history with Melbourne, Bill was raised in Eau Gallie which is now a part of Melbourne.  Yes, Eau Gallie is now history and being remembered in the Arts District.  Regareldss, we were familiar with Wickham Park which has excellent recreational facilities and more important in this case, a campground.

The park covers almost 400 acres with miles of hiking and off-road bicycling trails.

Backwoods trail

There is a disc course, exercise course, fishing lakes, horse stables, and a generous dog park.  There is little not to like about the park and the facilities.

Best yet, it is a short drive to visit Mama Lou and the rest of the family.  We took advantage of the short distance and spent several days in the area visiting, sightseeing, and sharing Christmas dinner with the family.

Bill & Rick
It was a special Christmas with so many family members stopping by to say "Merry Christmas"...

David & LIsa
Yes, it was a special Christmas.
Thank you to the family.
